Former Patriotic Front (PF) Kitwe District Information and Publicity Secretary Gift Kalumba has dismissed reports circulating on social media suggesting that some PF members in Kitwe have defected.

Speaking to Flava News, Mr. Kalumba said no PF member in Kitwe or any other district on the Copperbelt has defected to another political grouping or party. He described the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.

He charged that those spreading the rumours are merely promoting what he termed “political dynamism,” insisting that PF structures on the Copperbelt remain intact and united.

Mr. Kalumba challenged anyone with evidence of alleged defections to come forward publicly and provide proof that any PF members have formally resigned from the party.

While acknowledging that some members may be associating with different political alliances, he stressed that such associations should not be interpreted as formal defection from the PF.
