The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has allocated over K19.6 million towards 19 community projects in Mandevu Constituency under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
LCC Assistant Public Relations Manager Nyambe Bulumba said the funding follows approval by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development after the Mandevu Constituency Development Fund Committee identified priority projects based on community needs.
Mr. Bulumba disclosed that procurement processes have commenced, with contracts expected to be awarded soon to successful bidders for project implementation.
He said the 2026 CDF package prioritises key sectors including health, water supply, road infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, and community safety.
Among the key projects is the construction of a maternity annex at Shimizu Health Post in Ngwerere Ward, aimed at improving access to maternal healthcare.
Mr. Bulumba added that road works will be undertaken across Mpulungu, Kabanana, Mulungushi, Ngombe, Raphael Chota, and Justine Kabwe wards, including paving, drainage installation, and road base improvements to enhance mobility and local economic activity.
