The Zambia Cyber Security Initiative Foundation (ZCSIF) has called for stronger cybersecurity measures to safeguard Zambia’s growing digital ecosystem.
ZCSIF President John Tshinseki said the global community continues to witness unprecedented internet-driven developments that have significantly improved communication and enabled real-time cross-border transactions.
Speaking to Flava News, Mr. Tshinseki noted that both private and public institutions are increasingly embracing modern technology to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery. He said digital platforms have made services more accessible and convenient for citizens.
However, he cautioned that the rapid shift to online platforms has made cybersecurity a critical concern. As more citizens move into digital spaces for communication, commerce, and access to government services, ensuring internet safety must become a national priority.
Mr. Tshinseki stressed the need for strengthened cybersecurity frameworks, increased public awareness, and responsible digital practices to protect users from cybercrime, fraud, and data breaches. He reiterated that while digital transformation presents vast opportunities for national development, it must be underpinned by robust security systems to protect individuals, institutions, and the broader economy.
