Social Teacher Organisation Executive Director Andrew Chewe Mukosa has urged Zambians to shift political discourse from personalities to policy-driven agendas ahead of elections.

Speaking to Flava News, Father Mukosa expressed concern that political debate is increasingly centred on attacking individuals rather than discussing concrete national development strategies.

He stressed that citizens must evaluate aspiring leaders based on clear proposals and practical solutions to Zambia’s socio-economic challenges.

According to Father Mukosa, unemployment—particularly among young people—remains one of the country’s most urgent issues. He advocated for strengthening domestic production capacity, expanding industries, and increasing food production to enhance national food security.

He also highlighted the need to invest in essential public services, including access to clean water and improved road infrastructure, describing these as foundational pillars for sustainable development.

Father Mukosa said informed, issue-based political engagement is critical to ensuring accountable and effective leadership.
