Former civic leader Collins Chansa has identified water supply, traffic congestion, and the rising number of street children as key priorities for aspiring leaders ahead of the 13 August elections.

Mr. Chansa said traffic congestion in Kitwe’s central business district and along major routes continues to affect mobility and business operations.

He also noted that unreliable water supply remains a major challenge for many households, calling for stronger coordination between local authorities and stakeholders to improve service delivery.

Mr. Chansa described the increasing number of street children as a serious social issue requiring collaboration between the council and organisations supporting vulnerable groups.

He emphasised that development in Kitwe must be guided by community needs, urging leaders to engage residents before implementing projects aimed at improving livelihoods.
