A Social and Civil Right Activist says the decision taken by the president to terminate the appointment of Chushi Kasanda as Minister of Information and Media is political move, stating that he should have made more reshuffles at critical ministries.
Apostle Patrick Chibeshi observes that there are a number of cabinet ministers that continue to underperform in their positions and the president should focus on making reshuffles at ministries such as Health, Mines, Agriculture as well as Commerce and Trade.
He points out that poverty levels have continued to escalate due to underperforming critical sectors such as mines and agriculture, but unfortunately the president decided to make changes at a ministry that has less impact on some of the pressing economic issues.
Apostle Chibeshi charges that many stakeholders and citizens at large expect more reshuffles and not at ministries that have little to offer where economic activities are concerned.
And in the same vein, Mufulira Based Politician Geoffrey Luchele says President Hakainde Hichilema should not just stop at the Ministry of Information and Media but he should also make changes at the ministries of mines, labour and agriculture where the leaders have shown great ineptitude.
Speaking in an interview with Flava Mews, Mr. Luchele said the firing and reshuffling are long overdue, stating that the president had taken too long to react.
Mr. Luchele says the Head of State should call his house to order and get rid of all incompetent leaders in his administration.
He notes that the president should continue on this trajectory as it will send a message to all ministers in his administration, and he adds that all well-meaning citizens should support the president.
