Community Action Against Corruption (CAAC) has expressed approval for proposals suggesting regulatory measures for church leaders, including the introduction of a practicing license subject to annual renewal.

CAAC Executive Director Brightone has welcomed this initiative and affirmed the organisation’s support for government intervention in regulating the formation and practices of certain church leaders in the country. CAAC believes that it is the government’s responsibility to safeguard citizens not only from open corruption but also from spiritual corruption perpetrated by individuals posing as men of God.

Mr. Tembo expressed concern about the increasing exposure of Zambians to both financial and spiritual scams, stressing the need for citizens’ safety in all aspects of life.

Additionally, CAAC has recommended a review of the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation. Mr. Tembo pointed out that since Zambia was declared a Christian nation, politicians with questionable motives have exploited this status to conceal their true nature and collaborate with dubious religious figures to advance their selfish and corrupt interests.
