The Centre for Environment Justice (CEJ) Executive Director has urged Government to be firm in the application of laws, especially to foreign investors, regardless of the magnitude of investment they have put in.
CEJ Executive Director Maggie Mwape states that the driving force behind government’s mission and vision on investors should be to work tirelessly and bring experience, passion, and envision the future of Zambia’s investment.
She points out that government should ensure that they are making real positive impact and differences to both local and foreign investors by ensuring that there is total adherence to laws and regulations.
Ms. Mwape has advised that government should begin to make decisions that are aimed at protecting communities and investments especially in the mining sector.
She states that investors in the mining sector should respect the laws especially the ones on environmental violations even as they explore and expand their operations.
