The Zambia National Men’s Network for Gender and Development has urged the men to use their NAPSA benefits on productive investments that will create wealth for their families and consequently improve their welfare and wellbeing.
Organisation National Coordinator Nelson Banda states that while it is commendable that Government has amended the law to allow for partial withdrawal of pension benefits, caution should be taken as many male pensioners tend to abandon their wives and families after collecting their money.
Mr. Banda has further cautioned men to avoid high risk spending, running away from home and having multiple sexual partners because this may be detrimental to their lives and has the potential to destroy families.
He adds that inconsiderate behaviour is the breeding ground for gender based violence which the country is struggling to end, noting that some of these conflicts in homes emanate from financial mismanagement and risky behaviour.
