Residents of Mulenga Compound in Kitwe’s Ndeke Ward have called on government to expeditiously address the water supply challenge at Mulenga Clinic.

The residents that spoke to Flava News have complained that the clinic has not had any running water for months now and the situation has become problematic for patients.

They state that it is sad that a clinic with a maternity wing does not have water and expecting mothers are forced to carry buckets and containers of water from their homes so that they can be cleaned after delivery.

The residents have called on government to look into the matter as it is not healthy for a clinic to stay without water especially one with a maternity wing.

Kamfinsa Constituency’s Ndeke Ward Councillor Davies Kasengele says lack of water at the clinic is a serious issue that needs urgent attention.

Councillor Kasengele states that so far he has been engaging the Ministry of Health but he has been told that everything is at procurement stage.

The civic leader has since appealed to the ministry to work on the issue immediately as they have taken too long to sort out the matter.
