Economist Edna Litana says Zambia is well placed in the region to produce more goods in the agriculture sector for exports due to its good climatic conditions and available land.

Ms. Litana states that while other countries across the region and beyond do not have the right climatic conditions to produce more agriculture produce, Zambia is fortunate enough to produce more food if good measures are put in place.

She tells Flava News that based off the natural resources that Zambia is blessed with; the country is capable of producing more agricultural products.

Ms. Litana has further advised that the country needs to be more responsive even before addressing issues that are aimed at managing climatic risks.

And Transport and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali MP says Zambia’s central geographic location in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Region has presented an opportunity for the country to be exposed to multiple import and export Trade and Transport Corridors.

Mr. Tayali is attending the 2023 World Bank Group-International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C., USA where he participated in an in-person event on “Unlocking Financing Opportunities and Development Potential of Key Corridors in Africa”.
