National Association for Disabled Traders and Vendors of Zambia Secretary General Rodgers Bezika says the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) should quickly move in and decentralise the process for the disbursement of funds to district level.
Mr. Bezika tells Flava News that currently, market traders take their applications to the Provincial Headquarters across the country, and even at provincial level, the process is too cumbersome as they all have to wait for disbursement of funds from Lusaka.
He has disclosed that ever since President Hakainde Hichilema officially launched the programme on 17th November 2022, only about 20 Disabled Traders and Vendors have benefited in Kitwe District from a total of 100 submissions.
Mr. Bezika has since called on CEEC to expedite the process of decentralising the distribution of funds to beneficiaries.
