Community Action against Corruption (CAAC) has officially reached out to Transparency International Zambia (TIZ), inviting them to a public media discussion centred on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) Reports of 2022 and 2023.

CAAC Executive Director Brightone Tembo expressed concerns over the inconsistencies and contradictions found in the two CPI reports. Mr. Tembo emphasised that these discrepancies have raised doubts about the validity of the reports.

CAAC questions the credibility of TIZ, the custodians of the CPI report in Zambia, particularly regarding the data collection process involving experts and reputable institutions.

Mr. Tembo stated, “The two CPI Reports for the past two years, which the organisation has studied intensively, are misleading and cannot be considered reliable tools in the fight against corruption.”

Despite their reservations, Mr. Tembo remains hopeful that TIZ will accept their invitation to a media discussion, where they can defend the content and findings of the reports.
