The Opposition Economic Front party (EF) has expressed shock at the revelations in the Financial Intelligence Center (FIC) report for the financial year ending 2022 which has revealed that there could be more grand corruption in the United Party for National Development (UPND) government than the previous government going by the volumes and amounts of suspected illicit transactions amounting to K5. 8 billion, with an overall 38% plus increase compared to the year 2021.
EF Chairperson for Information and Media Fewdays Nsensema tells Flava News that it is quite upsetting to note that the huge sums of money going outside the country in dollar terms signify that corruption in UPND is at international level, alleging that the UPND government could be engaged corrupt activities with suspended foreign companies, organisations or individuals to steal from Zambians to benefit the outsiders in various forms.
Mr. Nsensema has since called upon the UPND government to fight and stop current corruption within their rank and file instead of concentrating all efforts on the previous government.
He indicates that the FIC report has just shown that the denial by the UPND government to fight corruption within itself is dangerous and a disservice to the country.
