Green Party President Peter Sinkamba says he is confident that Chief Justice Dr. Mumba Malila is working round the clock to address the delays in conviction of cases by law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Sinkamba tells Flava News that the delays in conviction of cases are due to institutional hitches within the legal system.
He states that once all the rules and regulations are put in place, all the law enforcement agencies such as the Zambia Police, Anti- Corruption Commission and Drug Enforcement Commission will begin to dispense pending cases on time.
Mr. Sinkamba says while he is aware that the Judiciary is in the process of making a number of reforms and new rules meant to address cyber and economic financial crime, he is of the view that delays in conviction of cases cannot be attributed to unprofessionalism by law enforcers but rather the numerous institutional hiccups within the justice system.
