The World Food Programme has approved a $98, 463, 341 country’s strategic plan for Zambia from 2023 to 2028.

This came to light at the United Nations World Food Programme Annual Executive Board currently taking place in Rome, Italy. Addressing the WFP Executive Board in Rome yesterday, Minister of Agriculture Reuben Mtolo Phiri said this shows commitment by the WFP Board to support Government’s ambitions to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people and strengthening the country’s economy.

Mr. Phiri acknowledged with great appreciation the efforts WFP has made in enhancing agriculture, education, health, social protection, and rural development in Zambia.

The United Nations WFP is the World’s largest humanitarian organisation saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.
