Special Assistant and Advisor to President Hakainde Hichilema on Economic, Investment and Development Affairs, Jito Kayumba says Zambia has a significant portion of unexplored land for mineral resources.
Speaking during the site unveiling for mineral exploration at Mingomba Mine by Kobold Metals in Chililabombwe District, Mr. Kayumba said there is need to create a mineral mapping policy which will not only attract foreign entities but private entities to conduct more mineral exploration.
Mr. Kayumba states that in order for investment to trickle down to the country, there is need for the rule of law to fulfill huge investments that cost millions of dollars, adding that there are chances that the investment might not be returned.
He notes that the environment for investment must be adequate as well as have sufficient legal framework and security of tenure and ensure that there is no unlawful appropriation of the mineral resource.
