Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner Richard Kapasa has underscored the commitment to enhancing tax knowledge, collaboration, and empowerment within the business community.

Addressing attendees at a tax awareness and business support conference yesterday, Mr. Kapasa highlighted the significant increase in tax revenue contribution to the national budget, rising from 49 percent to 70.5 percent in 2024.

Mr. Kapasa stressed the importance of maintaining a satisfied and knowledgeable taxpayer population to bolster voluntary compliance and revenue collection efforts. He reveals that ZRA aims to collect K125.3 billion, surpassing the target of K103.1 billion set for the previous year.

The Commissioner’s remarks underscore ZRA’s dedication to fostering a conducive environment for businesses while ensuring tax compliance and revenue growth. The focus on collaboration and empowerment is meant to reflect ZRA’s strategy to strengthen partnerships with the business community for mutual benefit and economic advancement.
