Land Development Expert Felix Chipoya has called on the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment to employ its significant role in the governance system of the country.

Mr. Chipoya states that in order to prevent citizens from being affected by floods as seen from the just ended rainy season, there is need to map all the eco-sensitive areas and control prohibited land allocation and encroachments.

He observes that most of the areas that have been encroached on and individuals have built structures on were the most affected and experienced disasters such as floods.

Mr. Chipoya is of the view that the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment is a vital ministry in terms of looking at climate change issues and environmental sensitive areas where citizens continue to be affected every year.

Mr. Chipoya who is also Zambia Land Alliance Kitwe District Chairperson tells Flava News that land encroachment and conflicts can be addressed when citizens begin to share the national cake, adding that land is the only resource that underprivileged people can access for being a Zambian citizen.
